No Reason to Be Bored

A new blog I’ve been real excited about is the Art of Minimalism. Mike has some really good content that has made me think and want to read more. It’s really good stuff. His latest post on the subject of Why we are Bored. This hits home, because I often find myself bored. So I find something to do, and then become overwhelmed, and realize maybe my time could’ve been better spent somewhere else.
That is all a waste.

Well it’s been about 2 months since I started Think Then Thrive. I started it because something in me just said, “do it!” I had nothing to lose. I knew I’m not a gifted writer. Overcoming My Restlessness

I am becoming restless. I have to always be doing something. Then I feel overwhelmed. Then the quality of my work suffers and I don’t end up getting anything meaningful done. It’s sucks, and I feel like all I am doing is wasting time. Can you relate?
I am pretty busy at work. I have a million things racing through my mind: Finishing my reports, making my reports better, worrying about the next step in my career, meeting with my mentors, doing the extra organizations promoted at my work (Toastmasters, etc), and a whole bunch of other crap. Project Fridays – Adding a Christmas Circuit

So Christmas is around the corner of course. Have you seen all the decorations in the stores? It’s the beginning of November! Last night, my wife laid out her plans for outside Christmas lights. Every year, Christmas lights are a big deal in our neighborhood. Actually it’s written in the homeowners association rules. Kinda nuts.
